THE AALDERS FROM APELDOORN 

Johannes Jacobus Aalders. was born 3 Aug 1864  in Amsterdam  son of Adriaan Aalders and Johanna ter Laare .     Jan started his career as a builder as he learned from his father at a time when the Dutch King was anxious that the railways so successfully established in England and Germany , should not lag behind in his country . He pushed hard to bring Dutch railways to the German border where it could link with that of its neighbour. Already a line had been established from Amsterdam to Amersfoort  and later still on to Apeldoorn . The aim was connection with the Germans. To survey and create the track ,people who knew what they were doing were needed . So, says Jan Aalders ( born1930) ( to his cousin Henry ( born 1939) “Where would the new railway people look for that expertise ?”  They decided that men with building experience would fit the bill .

 Enter Jan Jan  Aalders ,son of Adriaan…as one of its first team of appointed railway engineers in the Netherlands.”  My grandpa designed and worked on creating the line from Apeldoorn to Zutphen”  says Jan rightly with great pride. So we thought you too might want to know this before that snippet of information goes with  Jan  to his grave . 

After the line was open ,Jan was appointed to the Apeldoorn station as resident engineer .  Jan married Antonia den Ouden in Oegstgeest,  a township near Leiden on 1 Oct 1891 . She was 29  ,he was 27. Antonia died on 23 October in the Hague. Jan also died there in 1941,

Adriaan Aalders born 25 Nov 1892 in Apeldoorn ,Adriaan  was the son of Jan Aalders and Antonia dern       Ouden . The couple had no children 

Fenna Aalders  born 1893 in Apeldoorn  She  worked for Dutch railways . She never married

Alida Aalders  born 1896 in Apeldoorn   She  worked for Dutch railways . She never married

Janet Aalders  born 1894 in Apeldoorn.,She  worked for Dutch railways . She  was married to Frans               Grendel,

           Lida Aalders  born in Apeldoorn on 3 Jan 1901She  was married to Jan Bok , 

Johannes (Jan)  Antonius Aalders  born in Apeldoorn on 2 June1898 who married Wilhelmina  den               Hartog

Alice Aalders born 9 Jan 1932 in Apeldoorn the daughter  of Jan Aalders and Wilhelmina den Hartog. She married Antonius Boom M D  a psychiatrist 

Mariette Aalders born 9 Jan 1942 in Apeldoorn ,daughter  of Jan Aalders and Wilhelmina den Hartog. She married Erik Wachter,  

Jan Antonius Aalders born 16Feb 1930 in Apeldoorn . Jan was the son of Jan Aalders and Wilhelmina den Hartog.  Jan gave an interview in 2016 to the National world War ii Museum about war conditions in his birth place Apeldoorn in the 1940-1945 years  Extracts are in the drop box “Apeldoorn Aalders”  Jan attended the “Landbouw Hogeschool in Wageningen, Holland which led to Jan having been  a one time lecturer in economics in New Orleans .    He married Barbara Commander  but the marriage ended , They had children

 Saskia Aalders born in 1972 in the USA  daughter of Jan Antonius Aalders and Barbara             Commander  .Saskia  has an MBA  and lives in London UK. 

   Alexander Carlton Aalders  born 1970 in New Orlerans son   of Jan Antonius Aalders and Barbara Commander  Alexander has a Civil Engineering degree  and lives in Houston TX He is married to CristinaJune Vastine Aalders a lawyer with B A  and J D  degrees  (,bar association 24080510) , now                     practising in Houston Texas . Cristina June Vastine Aalders is a Natural Resources / Oil and Gas lawyer       in  Houston Texas who attended Paul M. Hebert Law Center - Louisiana State University

Alexander and June have a daughter;

Jan W Aalders  born in 1966 in New Orleans died in Apeldoorn ( ????) in 2006 he married Dr Sarah Aalders a dentist from Sturminster UK ( Jan W is also recorded as Jan W Aalders of  8014 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118.  born 1964  a k a John A W Aalders  same address related to Barbara mother. jan as his *father ,Alexander and Saskia  as children                                              

 This Jan was very much alive in 2022.

Harry Aalders   born in Qatar  now in U K with mother In the academic year 2022-2023 studied Russian    and Eurasian Politics and Economics at Kings College in London , He lists his origin as Doha .lives in Oxford .
