Willemijntje Aalders  ( 1816-1876) and  Hendrik Aalders

Willemijntje Alders ( 1816-1876) and  Hendrik Aalders   1816-1891

The Couple had to appear 3 times at the Townhall in Velsen to get married .

The first time in order to announce their intentions ,the second time to satisfy the bureaucracy about Hendriks certificate of birth or its equivalent ...,the third time to satisfy compliance with the military service requirements as required by the Provincial  Governor . Finally the officer of “births ,Deaths and Marriages” in the person of Mayor Johan Enschedé was satisfied that the couple could marry . All this is a sign that all was not well with the family relationship with the parish priest . Presumably Leendert his daughter or his father Hendrik or all had not been staunch church attendants ,forcing them to get wed before the state rather than through the more common vehicle of the parish church .

Witnesses to the wedding were  Pancras Kaasenbrood  and  Simon Kaasenbrood, brothers of the groom and  Cornelis en Teunis Reijer, uncles of the bride. Her uncles and mother could not sign as witnesses because they could not read nor write .

Willemijntje Kaasenbrood-Alders  died in 1876 in Santpoort.

Leendert  Kaasenbrood

From the marriage of Willemijntje and Joannes a son Leendert (or Leonardus) Kaasenbrood was born.   Mum, the widow  Catharina ( Trijntje Reijers )  continued to manage the farm.    In 1848 and in 1862 mention was made that apart from Willemijntje and Johannes Kaasenbrood of  their grandson Leendert  and son Hendrik ,still unmarried, live with her.

( Uncle) Hendrik Alders and  son Leonardus were the heirs of  Leendert Alders en Catharijna Reijers..

In 1877 son  Leonardus Kaasenbrood and his  father Johannes sell their share of the farm to respectively Uncle and brother in law Hendrik Alders for 6500 guilders ...                                                                                                                         The farm was at the end of an access road  situated at the southern end of the original “Kruidbergerweg”, as it was prior to the rerouting of 1735 . The access road shared frontage of the current Hagelingerweg ,which in those days was named “Grind and Puinweg”.

Hendrik remained a bachelor for a long time . Aged 48 he married a 36 year old , Elisabeth Mechtilda or Machtilda Krabbe in 1877.  She came from  Brummen in Gelderland. Sad years follow ,  in 1878 Hendrik’s  mother Catharina Reijers dies .

On New Year's Day 1879 Willemijntje ‘husband Johannes Kaasenbrood died aged 66.

Elisabeth Theodora Alders, Hendriksdaughter , is bornin 1882 .Her mother died at birth .The newborn Theodora  dies two days later .

Hendrik , remained  a childless widower. In 1883  Hendrik engaged as maid ,  Anna Catharina Reijnart, age 28,  born in Zevenbergen and living in the Haarlemmermeer. A love arrangement develops resulting in him marrying her in 1884 ,he is then 54 and she is 29 .

The old Dutch expression that even “an old buck fancies  a fresh leaf” is quite applicable.                                                At the same time a “Klaasje Reijnart” makes her entry in the household .She was born in Leiden in 1883 . Likely she was the daughter of Catharina ,born to her shortly before she entered service with Hendrik and cared for in the meantime by relatives of Catherine .

The marriage of  Hendrik and  Anna Catharina produces a son in  1885 ,but he too dies at birth .

Hendrik Alders dies  childless in 1891

His widow sells the farm in 1892 to Petrus Corneiszoon Hulsebosch ,bulb grower of Overveen for 11,000 guilders .Anna Catharina Reijnart returned to the  Haarlemmermeer from where she came originally .

During the 20th century in twenty-er years the Hyacinthenstreet was created in place of the access road which led to the then Grind en Puin Straat. A series of houses were built for the growing labour force of Velsen . The design of that development included an arch made from bricks ,which remains to this day which is all that remains of this Alders homestead.

This  male line of Hendrik Aalders died out with Hendrik Alders who died in 1891 .
