Henrich Ahlers Born 1615

Henrich Alers  …born about A D 1615 married Agnes in Vechta ca 1639. He is likely but not proven to be a son of Alerdess ,(Alert). What should be remembered is that likely the church baptismal records of those days either no longer exist  or never existed. The Council of Trent had only recently then made it compulsory  for church records to be kept . 

The couple fathered Johannes Henrich born in 1641 who lived in Lohne , His wife was still alive when the 1703 census was taken .She was recorded on page 187 as living with her daughter Anna Margreta and her son in law Dieter Schlafhorst in Vechta . 

Johannes Henrich Alers1641-1690 - born and died in Lohne . He married Anna Mollers in Lohne in 1664 producing Henrich Jorgen Ahlers  1670-1732 .This couple  had  2 daughters named Dorothea and daughter Catharina Elizabeth Ahlers (1674-1703) . It could be that Johannes Henrich married a second time and took Catharina Koldenhof  as a wife . She produced Anna Maria Ahlers (1683-1756) and Johannes Bernardus Alers (born 1673 also known as Eilers .  In that these two children were born in Bokern points to there being a brother (Johan) Henrich Alertss or a close relative with identical name ,  married to Anna Sophia Reetman (Raethman). Their 4 children were all born in Bokern. (rural suburb of Vechta).                                                                                                                                                       

There is something peculiar about this couple in that the local church book says that both were dead in 1703 ,whereas the Status Animarum of 1703 , ( the church census of the time )  says that they were alive . 

Henrich Jorgen Ahlers 1670-1732 married on 23Nov 1688 to  Anna Voet (also Voeth, or Foht) ,a local girl from the Voeth farm in Bahlen, a nearby village on the boundary with Dinklage . 

The couple had 3 known children that we know of . 

Anna Ahlers 1690-1702,born and  died in Vechta,                 

Elizabeth Maria  Ahlers (Marijtje) 1693-1771, 

and  Henrich Ahlers 1689-1760.                                                                                                                       

The couple married in Sankt Georg Kirche in Vechta 23Nov 1688 .   Anna’s brother Werneke Foht (Voeth) was a witness .  The Voeth family farmed in Bahlen although Anna is recorded to have come from Lohne .
