Gerard & his children

Gerrardus Franciscus  Leonardus Aalders  was  born 24 Jan 1953  in Bussum the Netherlands . He is the  son of Gerard Adriaan Johan Aalders and Johanna Parijs ,another greatgrandson of Adriaan Aalders . Gerard was born in 1953 ,the year of calamity ,when in a massive storm the dikes  broke and much of Holland and Zeeland flooded causing many deaths )  ,   Gerard flew with his parents and family from Amsterdam  to New Zealand where he arrived 26 Dec 1956 ,just 4 weeks before his 4th birthday . He grew up in New Zealand .His parents placed him with as German engineer/.architect as an apprentice ,where Gerard received a very good and thorough training .From his employer he learned a lot and to perfect the technical drawings which his master taught him to draw .He presented fine technical drawings always his forte.                       Standing nect to a sign board pointing to the Geothermal Power station outside Ormoc Philippines, built with NZ overseas aid ,he could proudly point to the massive machinery at the plant built from Gerard's drawings created by him as a youngster .The ultimate products from  those drawings producing plenty of electric power .  Few people are provileged to see the ultimate good that flowed from the efforts in their youth .                                      .

His  thorough training in his youth  in later life would stand him in very good stead. This led to his appointment as Sales Manager for N Z  for Juken Nisho , the owners of the Triboard Mill in Kaitaia Northland NZ    .His Triboard connection has largely shaped his life .                                                    Geratd could not stand the Australian heat and preferred NZ cooler climate . His children all preferred to live in Queensland  initially to live with their motherr but later to settle there permanently .                                                                                                                                                      In retirement Gerard built and enjoyed a holiday cottage in Fairburn ,a rural spot outside Kaitaia,a place where the Kiwis still roam and can be heard ,in the far north of New Zealand  . He and his second wife Vangie ehjoyed gping to  a holiday home in Pangasinan Philippines ,built by his wife. Gerard is a festidious gardener and lives at  Auckland's North Shore  overlooking the top of Auckland harbour.

 Gerrard married Sharon Rosemary Martin ,born 7 Jan 1957 in Auckland NZ in 1975 in Auckland The marriage ended in divorce  It produced 3 children  .

Gerard married a second time with Evangelina Maguiling ,born 27  March 1957 in Pangasinan Philippines.     

 Gerard and Evangelina have  no children

Gerard and Sharon had the following children 

          Adrienne Renee Aalders , born 29 Dec 1977 in Auckland N Z  Now Adrienne Sidwell   

Simon Gerard Aalders   born 12 November  1979 in Auckland .N Z 

Mathew Vance Aalders born 28 April  1981  in Sydney NSW.
